Working from home is a great opportunity and can be very rewarding if we don’t put too much pressure on ourselves to DO IT ALL.  While we would all like to have a little super Mom in us, there is only so much one person can do in a day.  Too often we find ourselves stressed out and ready to snap.

See how this work at home mom learned to balance work and family from her days as a college instructor and how you can turn stressful days into productive ones.

Super Mom!

After many years in the traditional workforce, I found myself a WAHM. With some creativity and planning, I found I was able to work from home AND meet the needs of my 5 children and their hectic schedules.

One strategy I took with me from when I was a college instructor was to set up office hours. I choose times which are optimal for my own productivity and which meet the needs of my family. This also helps me to schedule appointments around when I know I am supposed to be “at work.”

With 5 children (the youngest being 14 months), being a WAHM can be overwhelming. I find meal planning for the week and the use of a crock pot very helpful in that we are able to sit for a family meal each night despite each of our busy schedules.

My best wishes for your success!
