Calm those pre-interview nerves by following the advice of our expert guest blogger, who reminds us to research, prepare, and rehearse for a successful interview.

Research, Prepare, Rehearse

Research: Learn about the company where you are interviewing. Take detailed notes: mission statement, services they provide, staff, affiliates and volunteer programs/organizations they work with (if they do so).

Prepare: Study your notes and see what skills you have that would be of service to them now and where your skills can help them five- ten years from now. Create a list of questions you would want to ask a potential employee.

Rehearse: practice answering questions and your 10 second elevator pitch in front of the mirror.
