Working from home is convenient . Nothing beats rolling out of bed right into your desk (still wearing your pajamas) on a weary Monday morning. The downside to this is the lack of personal interaction you get with potential clients. Our expert guest blogger shares her advice for networking techniques for work at home Moms.
Caffeinate Your Networking
I was a work at home mom for 4 years and the most productive thing I ever did for networking was to go out and get a cup of coffee! Once or twice a week (whenever I could get a sitter or all of my 3 kids were in school) I’d head for my local coffee shop and set up office. It amazed me how many other people were working from coffee shops too, and as a freelance advertising creative I picked up several jobs just from chatting with people. I think that getting yourself out of the house and into a non pressure environment with a whole bunch of people in the same situation as you can do wonders!

Become a Regular
Frequenting the same coffee shop will allow you to develop relationships with the employees, owners, and other patrons who frequent the shop. These relationships are valuable sources of referrals. And if you are sitting at your favorite table the same time every week, you will remain fresh in their memory and they will always know where to find you when they need your services.
