It is a challenge for work at home moms to find the right balance that works for them. Too often they are pulled in several directions throughout the day and feel like they’ve only provided a portion of their attention to each task, which can be mind boggling and frustrating.
Our expert guest bloggers have written in with their suggestions on how to manage and balance your work and home when they start blending together.
Create Systems and Stick to Them
For a work at home mom, survival depends on creating good systems and sticking to them. Have a method for everything in your business.
- Write down step-by-step guidelines for tasks such as finding clients, generating content, and updating social media pages.
- Assign time slots for your important tasks.
- Set one or two times to check your email each day.
This will boost your focus and productivity in your business and preserve the energy you need for family time.

I found recently that making a list on my office white board is really helpful. I wear several hats, as most Mothers do so dividing up my responsibilities by category and working on one major task a day or week helps to relieve stress. If I don’t complete a task by the end of the week, then I will move it to the top of my list for the next day or week.
Awesome idea, Lynnae! And having a plan for what happens when you don’t get things done is a great way to alleviate stress. There is always more to do than there is time to do it! Thanks for sharing!
