It seems odd to tell you about how I met my business partner through a social media site. Yes, many people use sites like Facebook and Twitter for socialization or promotion of already established businesses, but for me, it was a way to meet aspiring entrepreneurs like myself.
On a random Sunday, I was surfing my Facebook feed and stumbled upon a group page that was solely devoted to business-savvy people who were looking for an outlet to vent or share tips of the trade. To my surprise, I was delighted and impressed by some of the contributions that were displayed on this group page. Moreover, there was one person in particular that stuck me as someone who could really motivate me to start my own company.
I had an idea, but I never knew how to make it tangible. I got in contact with this person and asked for some general advice concerning my business venture. His initial response was chalked full of useful tips, sound advice, and a quote that I’ll never forget—“If you don’t take the first step, you’ll never know if you could have been the success you’ve always knew you should be.” He was completely right. These were great words from a great man that I’m still in touch with today.
