When heading into an interview it’s best to be as prepared as possible. There are a number of ways you can educate yourself about the position and company to which you’re applying. Our expert guest blogger suggests you familiarize yourself with the company’s publications. Learn how checking out the company website and Facebook page may give you some good interview tips!
Check the Interviewer’s Publications
Before you walk into an interview, check what the company in question is publishing on their website and social media accounts. Even better, if you can, check the interviewer’s accounts. With a little research, you’ll be able to point to how you specifically can address the opportunities that the company is currently talking about. You may also be able to avoid some taboo topics, like cheering for the wrong sports team. While you should never lie about your politics, religion or preferred sports team in an interview, avoiding awkward discussions is a good plan.
